the wacky world of Wiki...

After enjoying another Common Craft video (I think I am going to miss those guys when this is all over...) I did some exploring in the world of the wiki. Specifically, I read the Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki and checked out what folks had to say concerning collection building and weeding. There seems to be lots of room for those of us at CML to add our expertise in the area of collection development models-didn't look like anyone had shared. But there was some best practice advice under the weeding category. With all the libraries who contact us to find out more about central selection and how we process materials so efficiently, I can see that adding our best practices to a wiki might help folks out. I'm sure we don't want to stop meeting people face to face-its really fun to talk to staff from other cities and states (sometimes countries!!) but it would give them a one stop shop for any info they missed on their visit. Hmmm...
